Can someone who is a fan or something explain what this guy's fucking deal is? Why is he releasing albums on major labels while prancing around with Wolfsangels and other pseudo-swastikas?
People say it's all full of double meanings, but his music is so unpleasant to listen to, it's such a celebration of anti-intellectualism and being braindead that I end up too disgusted to even listen to it.
Before you immediately assume I'm not "in on it" I'm a big fan of Genocide Organ, who have a similar approach of using reactionary symbols as a weapon against reactionary ideology. When it comes to this guy, I mean, he's hanging out with Tom Metzger and Bob Heick. Stewart Home, who seems like a pretty cool guy, directly accused him of being a Nazi, in an article that is here but I have yet to read it

 No.12037

Okay here's an example: "Because of Him."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxflOZamfwY
So the lyrics, if you look them up, obviously on the surface imply that "Him" is Adolf Hitler.
>A friend that will eradicate
>All life's false humanity
>Helping one race, one creed
>To meet their need
Pretty racist… or is it? One race, like the human race? Or the white race?? All life's "false humanity?" Maybe that's the Jews? But this is in actuality cribbed from a song by the People's Temple Choir
https://youtu.be/2H5Smf1fHFA?si=roFpscmCH3rVd2qg
Which was a religious cult. So instead it's a critique of ideology! But hang on. Because the People's Temple was also (allegedly) a communist church. So … What is he trying to say

You see what I mean by I feel like I'm going schizo?

Undertale is primarily a commentary on the ways people approach media. Genocide route, in that context, is a response to playing through games in the increasingly prevalent mechanical and consumptive way. While there's enough in there to support Toby exalting authorial intent, I think he's noticing trends in the ways people approach games (consumptive and completionist), but hasn't really diagnosed the cause, which is why he condemns the player for playing through genocide (or choosing to see it without playing themselves) as a personal failing rather than getting at things like the culture industry or trends in game design and marketing that encourage that kind of approach. As not a great fan of authorial intent I still see a lot of value in a game (or anything really) having the guts to resist people who only want to engage with it in a boring or distanced way.

Linux, Wikipedia, Mozilla Firefox, Signal… I've always believed, that these were the "good guys" in the tech world. I have believed, that there is a countermovement against BigTech. I remember, ten years ago, I actually donated regularly to Wikipedia, because I believed in their mission of free knowledge and shit. But in the last months, I found out that all these "alternative" and "non-profit" projects and organizations are deeply intertwined with BigTech. It's over. There was a time, when people thought, that television would bring light to the world. It didn't, it actually brought darkness to the world. And I was one of those people, who believed, the internet would bring light to the world. Now I realize, it was a mistake, just like television.

I know this quote is sometimes misconstrued as criticism of Tolkien, rather than simply contrasting his own approach to fiction, but it still is ironic considering how much GRRM clearly doesnt care about making his world "historically realistic" (or doesnt know enough about history to make it so) and designed ASOIAF like an Age of Empires game, while Tolkien was a world-building autist who clearly put lot of thought into things like Gondors levy system.

So far I am enjoying it a lot. Sound design is really good. The animals are either really cute or really uncanny. There's a spooky atmosphere. I don't know whats going on but I think the animals are ghosts because they disappear in light sources. It's really open ended and you just sort of wander around until you get stuck. Upgrades are REALLY fun so far (not in that they change much about how you traverse the world or anything just that they are fun to use and funny). The game is like looking at an animal at night and they make a growling noise and you think its a wild boar when its just a goat.

I think you don't hate the terminal so much as how the UNIX shell works. Unix specifically is terrible because all it knows is strings, and thus shit breaks constantly due to formatting errors, and you have to fuck with regex constantly. Read the Unix Hater's Handbook, research Lisp machines and Lisp REPLs, learn about old mainframe OSes and Multics, learn about JSON and semantic web tech and ways to pass around typed data.

a similar problem is with programming where most tools are extremely primitive and only deal with plaintext, and use a large chain of parsers to gradually convert the plaintext into something with an abstract structure. this prevents any tools being able to have an idea of what you're trying to do while you're programming, and using that info to aid you at all. and also necessitates writing an entire language parser any time you want to extract data out of that plaintext, which is a massive pain in the ass.

First off this game I felt was perfect for me. Love detective games, adventure games and RPGs. After reading reviews both on here and IGN it was a no brainer to buy.

I immediately didn't like the graphics. Camera is too close and the pace in which your character moves is simply annoying. Never mind, I forgave these short comings. The actual puzzle element is quite good, where the game highlights objects of interest, seen this style before and I appreciated it.

The acting is completely soulless, combined with the over complicated dialog I just couldn't put up with it. The final straw was meeting two 10 year old kids who just continuously swore, the F word, don't mind adults saying this but 10 year old kids, depressing and out of line.

This game is a depressing mess. The only positive is maybe the puzzles make some sense.

Go to a poor area sometime, there are kids like that. Especially when you're a cop. IDK what you mean about the writing and acting, I thought it was good personally, all open to opinion though.

It's good you refunded it though since the current owners of the IP stole it.

TELL ME ABOUT COMMIE SUBS!

i am not in the anime scene, but i noticed that >>>/meta/33105 [etc.] have metadata showing the videos are edits of Commie releases. Are they just a typical sub group known for putting effort into integrating the subs into the scene in cool ways? Is their name anything to take seriously?

No, they are softsubs. Archive.org needs and account to upload and I don't have one. Is there any alternatives? They are around 1.6 GB in total.

>Archive.org needs an account to upload and I don't have one. Is there any alternatives?
Literally just email address, password, google captcha. The email address can be a temp throwaway one you don't own (e.g. guerillamail) if you don't like giving yours away. I'll register for you if you want and hand over the details.
It's almost-if-not-impossible to find anywhere that allows you to upload GBs of files without an account.

Actually, since it's just an existing torrent anyone can download with special softsubs added, you can .zip up the subs only and upload them here.

Despite the name its members are Bernie-type socdems. They were well-known mostly for doing troll subs, but when they're good, they're very good (see: their Monogatari subs).

Anybody else in the bunker enjoy cars and motorsport? Discuss anything motoring related here.

To start I'll say I've spent the last few days doing the brakes on my own car, including new calipers. Fucking hard work on an old POS, nothing comes apart easily.

For whatever reason (probably because the market for both used and new vehicles is mental rn) both of my neighbors want to buy my ~175k km 2012 Dodge Caravan. Thinking of selling it and buying a Kei truck. I have some reservations; the fact that they are RHD; the low clearance/weight which might struggle in the snow; the possibility that parts/tires are hard to source; crash safety in general but particularly when considering that I'll be contending with the super sized trucks and SUVs that dominate the roads here, etc but I'm this close to pulling the trigger

>Why not go for it
In addition to the reasons I listed, there's a 15-year import rule in my cunt so I can't buy new, the trucks I'm finding are all manual transmission which I don't know how to drive and apparently they don't go very fast–I wouldn't want to strain the engine just trying to drive at highway speeds.
Still, I'm probably going to do it. I'm so tired of the shitty fuel efficiency of my van and the trucks are stupidly cheap. The one in picrel only has ~50k km on it and is going for $10k

After doing a bit of reading, it seems like the Supercharged Subaru Sambar is the Kei truck I want. They're the easiest to work on, it's the only one with a 4-cylinder engine, said engine is located behind the rear axle as opposed to under the seat and it has the most spacious cab. Unfortunately they're relatively scarce. I'd much rather just buy one from a localish dealership with of all the bureaucracy already dealt with but I'm starting to think I'm going to need to deal with an importer, do a bunch of paperwork to get it road legal and possibly even drive it home 1600km from the port in Halifax. This would end up being cheaper than buying it ready-to-go but the amount of work involved is daunting. Needless to say I'm having second thoughts and am starting to look at late 80s/early 90s trucks in general since this was the last time auto makers made reasonably sized vehicles

Why do people constantly call the saga of Tanya Mangaka a communist? just stumbled upon the guy's feed and it's full of boomer takes, SDF shilling(this is the complete antithesis of the JCP), and anti-communist retweets.

On top of that, Riyoko Ikeda(The Rose of Versailles) who was a member of the Japanese communist party in her youth is now doing interviews with LDP and butt buddies with a senior member. The Riyoko one is far more shocking than the nazi anime girl

I think what's going on is people who like drawing "problematic" stuff see scoldy culture war stuff from one side and instead of just going "yeah this is stupid, I'll tell them to go away and keep doing what I like" they decide to join the other culture war side instead, getting invested in political shit they otherwise wouldn't have cared about. I didn't follow him closely but I wouldn't be surprised if Akiman went from "I should be able to draw hot anime girls without annoying people screaming in my ear" to "I'm gonna read about QAnon on Gab, because I dislike The Woke".

As stated before with that "anti-woke" lady who writes yuri porn though, this is really stupid because once you step out of niche "conservative nerd" circles on Twitter you'll realize the average normie right winger will hate you for being a "degenerate anime coomer" just as much as the worst radlibs and also want your stuff gone. I feel like Japan's going through the same thing America did where right wing talking heads try to get nerds on board by saying "look, we'll defend your problematic stuff! we're not triggered SJWs!" - and how did that turn out? Is Milo Yiannopoulos fighting censorship? No, he's a "pray the gay away" guy now while US conservatives are trying to ban all forms of pornography, call video games degenerate & say anime waifus groom you into being trans.
